: Third edition. Original brown blind-embossed cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine. Spine ends are worn away, board edges are exposed, boards bear some mottling. Interior pages are foxed, and especially browned where some newspaper clippings were placed. Contains ownership information on flyleaf, bookplate on pastedown, and a penciled remark on the rear pastedown. The book allegedly predicts the development of the automobile, road systems, typewriter, and other modern technology years or decades before they were developed.
